Even if you agree to buy the home “as-is”, the appraiser or underwriter still may require certain repairs. If they do, then those repairs must be completed prior to close.

The most recent situation I came across was a home that did not have a heater installed. This is an absolute requirement across the board. Another safety issue requirement would be an empty pool that must be filled.
