I had a meeting with a client the other day and we were discussing credit reports and how many pieces of junk mail he receives from credit card companies soliciting him to open up new credit cards. Obviously he’s on some list (or lists) because, if you’re not aware, the three major credit bureaus can legally sell his (YOUR) information and credit profile.

So what can you do about it? I shared this information with him, and I want to pass it along to you as well. Opt out from having your information sold!

Go to www.optoutprescreen.com or call 888.567.8688. You will get asked a series of questions and then will be given the option to opt out for 5 years or permanently.

I opted out about a year ago and have seen a decrease in the junk mail I receive, so it’s worth a shot and only a few minutes of your time. Good luck!
