Anything greater than this amount is considered Jumbo. This is extremely helpful because non-Jumbo interest rates tend to be lower, and qualifying rules and reserve requirements are a little more lax. With housing prices being as high as they are, this will help some homeowners and buyers take advantage of lower-rate opportunities.
